Russian red garlic, both fiery when raw yet smooth when cooked should be pulled from the ground, and dried.

Collect alliums like onions when stalks have turned yellow/brown and have dried out.

Ronde de Nice, a French heirloom zucchini has a mild flavour and yields a lot of fruit. White patches at this time of year may be powdery mildew which will not harm the plant. To remove use milk, neem or baking soda.

Trio coloured romesco cauliflower, part of the Brassica family, add texture to dishes and are beautiful to present on a plate. Or make a piccalilli with vinegar and mustard to preserve for winter.

Packed with lycopene, the bold red of these carrots is extra crunchy. Store under a layer of peat.

Yellow brandywine tomatoes bear delightfully sweet fruit, perfect for canning.
