Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts newest entry, Portrush Adelphi, a 34-room hotel in the heart of the iconic seaside town of Portrush, Northern Ireland has made its debut. Portrush Adelphi has been thoughtfully restored with major renovations to guest rooms, public areas, and dining spaces.
Blending timeless style with a deep appreciation for local culture, the hotel offers a fresh chapter for a beloved landmark. Designed by owner, AJ Capital Partners’ in-house team, the hotel draws inspiration from County Antrim’s rich heritage and dramatic natural beauty. Guests can enjoy individually designed rooms, atmospheric gathering spaces, and the debut of The Red Sail Room, a brand-new restaurant concept rooted in local flavour and elevated hospitality.
Design
For the hotel’s interiors, the in-house design team drew on Portrush’s golfing history and the showstopping scenery of County Antrim. The lobby and guests are greeted by rich mahogany wooden herringbone floors, majestic columns, overflowing greenery, and an open fireplace for the cold winter months. 34 thoughtfully designed rooms feature a rich palette of jewel tones, bespoke furnishings, and thoughtful amenities. Tartan upholstery and cable knit throws add warm texture to the moody deep blue and greens, inspired by the lush surroundings. The land and sea colour scheme continues into the bathrooms, with custom wallpaper and vibrant green tiles reflecting Ireland’s moniker as the “Emerald Isle.” Expanding on Marine & Lawn’s celebration of old-school luxury and craftsmanship, ensuites are stocked with a range of products from Floris, the world’s oldest independent family perfumer.
Dining
The Red Sail Room is a brand-new, high-end Italian dining experience that blends authentic traditions with contemporary elegance, attracting hotel guests and locals alike. The warm and modern dining room is adorned with oak leaf wallpaper and whitewashed wooden panelling. Oil paintings throughout the restaurant depict scenes of the local sea and coastline, while deep maroon velvet banquettes add a touch of elegance. The restaurant puts an emphasis on Italian dishes complemented by locally sourced ingredients. An extensive list of Italian and complex world wines has been carefully curated to complement the menu.

Destination
Situated on Northern Ireland’s striking coastline – and only an hour from both Belfast and Derry-Londonderry – Portrush is a picturesque base to explore the local area’s various landmarks and attractions, including the breathtaking Giant’s Causeway; the dramatic ruins of Dunluce Castle; and Bushmills Distillery, the world’s oldest licensed distillery. The town itself boasts three golden sand beaches – East Strand, West Strand, and Whiterocks Beach – suitable for an array of watersports and activities, such as swimming, surfing, paddle boarding, and kayaking.
