How To Get The Look
French Twist
The Lived-In Kind
Perfect for: rooftop drinks, date nights and soirees. The best advice for this updo is to keep it sleek.
CSL got the lowdown on the French Twist from the experts at KERASILK. First, start with dry hair. Work texturizing cream through the lengths to create grip. Gently backcomb the crown for volume. Twist hair upward into a modern French twist and secure with pins. Pull out a few pieces around the face. Use hairspray to set without stiffness. Tame frizz or flyaways with a wand for polish.
TIP
Add in a multi-benefit hair oil on ends before twisting the bun for added shine.
Trackside Twist
The Backstretch
“This wet up-do replicates elements of Christian’s collection this season, taking inspiration from what you would find at the racetrack – from the winding track paths sprouting from the bun to the textured lanes along the top of the hair,” says Lacy Redway, TRESemmé Lead Stylist.
Hidden Fishtail Twist
Texture
“We chose a fishtail braid because it adds texture and depth without overpowering the clothes. From the front, it feels effortless and simple, but as you turn, the intricate braid reveals itself, echoing the hidden details woven into the collection,” explains Mustafa Yanaz, celebrity stylist with TRESemmé.
Simple Twist
Ribbon Updo
Dampen hair and prep with primer. Section hair into two parts at the crown, securing bottom half into ponytail. Separate top section into three parts and use gel to slick sides into overall ponytail. Fold lengths of ponytail into ribbon-like structures. Clip ribbons and apply hairspray to lock into place.
