This season focus on mixing high-low fashion, bringing out your inner vamp or achieving the perfect brow.

1/ THE EYES HAVE IT
For a presence that will stand out from the crowd opt for eyeshadow in an unusual angular shape. Simply use masking tape to trace the outline you want to fill in with colour. Just make sure to keep the rest of the face bare and the nails short with just a swipe of a neutral tone.

2/ MIX IT UP!
It’s been the mot juste for years – high-low. Mixing casual streetwear (like this graphic tee) with high fashion staples and fabrics (like a luxe skirt) gets a 21st century makeover here courtesy of Christian Siriano.

3/ FLAWLESS FACE
Achieving the glam look for the holidays is easy. We’ve got you covered with 3 products applied in 3 easy steps.

Holiday parties, New Year ’s Eve, Valentine’s Day – all these celebrations practically call for red lips. It won’t look retro or overdone if you follow a few tips. Keep the rest of the face bare (all you need is a swipe of mascara). Choose a shade that is flattering for your skin tone: warm undertones should choose red-blue shades, while coral-raspberry works on cool undertones.

Focus on red lips. Choose a creamy base that won’t dry out lips. For that extra dash of glam choose a high-shine lip colour that works for day and night. Maybelline Color Sensational Vivid Matte Liquid.

It’s all about the brush. This one is hefty so you’ll be able to reach every lash with just a couple of strokes. Dior Diorshow Mascara

Begin by prepping the face with a lightweight, creamy foundation. A matte finish will give you the coverage you need. Urban Decay

4/ THE LADY IS A VAMP
This look is all about embracing the dark side. For the face, apply a neutral concealer and cream based foundation. Then apply a dark red lip liner in the same shade as your lipstick. Use a lip brush to fill in colour. Apply a high shine lip gloss. For the eyes, begin by lining inner and outer rim with eyeliner. Thicken line for even more drama. Define the outer edge of the eye with a dark brown eyeshadow and apply a bronze colour across entire lid. On nails go dark and glossy.

5/ ARCHED BROWS
Want to shape the perfectly arched brow? Begin at the root and brush your brows upward. Mark the start of your brow with an eye pencil by aligning your brow with your inner tear duct. Remove strays that fall outside. The end point of your brow should line up directly with the outer edge of your eye. Mark it with an eye pencil and remove hairs outside this. The arch should fall above the outer rim of your iris on your brow bone. Mark this point with an eye pencil. Remove any strays below this. Taper the brow toward the outer edge.

6/ RIMMED EYES
The newest way to create dark rimmed eyes? Use a range of different black eye pencils. Line the inside water line with one, the lower lash line with another. Try a third (kohl pencil) around the rim of the eyes. Then softly blend. For added pizzazz create a bold feline flick.
