Once a sugarcane plantation, Castle Resorts Kiahuna Plantation and The Beach Bungalows is now a 35 acre oceanfront condo resort near Poipu Beach Park with shopping, golf, horseback riding and restaurants nearby.
Our one- bedroom garden-view Kauai condo had touches of plantation décor. It featured a full kitchen, free wi-fi and a balcony for al fresco dining.
On site barbecues, a restaurant, pool, jetspa, tennis courts, and a beach activity center cater to families and young couples. The vibe here is relaxing and carefree.
WHAT WE LOVE
The grounds here are spectacular with large trees, flowers and ponds.
A pleasant stroll through the grounds leads to Moir Gardens, begun in the 1930s. Planted among black lava rock are a collection of succulents considered among the best in the world, ravishing orchids, bromeliads and cactus.
