A great cocktail recipe from Madeleine MacDonald of Model Milk Bistro Calgary, Canada featuring the iconic brand Cointreau.
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz The Botanist Islay Dry Gin
1 egg white
1 oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz gewürztraminer syrup*
Dash orange flower water
Nasturium flower for garnish
* Gewurztraminer Wine Syrup
1 bottle of Gewürztraminer
2 cups sugar
For the syrup: Combine ingredients in a pot and bring to a boil. Simmer for 15 minutes. Cool down. Syrup can be kept for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator.
For the cocktail: Combine all ingredients except for soda and garnish in a mixing glass.
Dry shake. Shake with ice. Double strain into a rocks glass without ice. Let settle for 1-2 min. Top with soda. Garnish with nasturtium flower or any other edible flowers.
