Hair Mask or Conditioner

Warm weather can strip away the hair’s natural moisture, creating frizzy, brittle hair. So, it’s crucial to add conditioner or a hair mask to your haircare routine once a week.

Going For a Swim?

CHLORINE Wash hair in cool, fresh water before and after to prevent discolouration.

SALTWATER Apply pure organic coconut oil and pre-soak hair with water to prevent dryness.

CONDITION Mix fresh water with your conditioner and spray on hair immediately after swim.

After a warm shower, apply conditioner and rinse. For a hair mask, massage scalp paying attention to applying from roots to the tips, then let the treatment sink in for 3-5 minutes for normal hair up to 10-15 minutes for dehydrated hair. Then rinse as usual.

Ditch the Daily Wash

Washing your hair daily over the summer can strip it of natural oils, making it extra dry, damaged and causing split ends. Instead, wash your hair every other day. Also, don’t forget to stay hydrated. Smoothies, hydrating fruit, and water are great ways to start from the inside out.

Sun Protection

TIPS

DAY During the day, wear a hat. At night rest your head on a silk pillowcase which absorbs less moisture than other materials (less frizz).

Intense UV rays can significantly damage your hair and scalp. Even worse, it could potentially lead to headaches, nausea and sun stroke. What can you do? Wear a hat (especially a wide-brim), use sunscreen on your scalp, and use after-sun shampoo.

Don’t Straighten

Put away heated styling tools like straighteners and curling irons which can apply extra stress to hair and amplify sun damage. Instead, embrace your natural hair. On rainy or damp days, when moisture lifts the hair cuticle leading to frizz, puffiness, and loss of shape, disrupting polished styles, try smoothing and anti humidity products.
