THE MAKEUP
Go daring and feminine with happy colours that draw from floral accents, glowing skin and daring eyes.
If there is one day in a woman’s life to go unabashedly dreamy with makeup, her wedding day is it. A romantic reverie, Rodarte’s spring show provides the perfect, contemporary roadmap.
“The makeup look this season is inspired by modern art with strong vibrant colors and abstract shapes,”says the show’s makeup artist James Kaliardos using NARS Cosmetics.
Frame the face with real flowers secured with bobby pins. Models wore roses on the runway, but for a wedding, baby’s breath, lilacs, or even ranunculus are equally stunning. Work with a florist to ensure the freshest buds, in proportion with the bride’s face, anything too large will overwhelm the entire look.
Saturate lips with a blue-red creamy, and long lasting colour. For cheeks Kaliardos layered blush, choose a rosy base followed by a light-reflecting formula.
Lids saturated with yellow in a rectangular shape may be too bold for most brides. Instead, opt for gold eyeshadow which will add just the right sparkle.

THE HAIR
One of the best ways to pull the entire bridal look together is with accessories.
Floral embellishments or other hair accessories are made for a spring or summer wedding. The key is to keep the hair simple, whether it is an up-do, naturally cascading curls or straight locks.
Think of your hair as a blank canvas, and allow the accessory to make the statement. To achieve softness, choose a hairspray with hold that gives flexibility to move. Then choose your accessory – flower crowns introduce colour, a hat gives a casual vibe while a fascinator or headband draws attention to the face. This is a wonderful way to personalize and individualize your wedding day look:
Watters: A multicoloured flower crown is a fresh alternative to a veil or tiara.
Delpozo: A ruffle headband or a fascinator is an alternative if flowers are not your thing.
Wtoo by Watters: A wide brimmed hat is ideal for a destination wedding. Keep hair loose and simple.
Watters: Long flowing ribbons give a flower crown texture and movement.
Daalarna: Tulle with whimsical touches.
Alexandra Grecco: Interlace a variety of flowers in hair.
Laure de Sagazan: Tuck gold leaves and flowers in a crescent shape into an updo.
