Disney delights families and anyone looking for a vacation packed with Hawaiian culture, activities galore and endless magical experiences.

WHY HERE WHY NOW Guests will be enchanted by the work created by Disney imagineers and local Hawaiians. Rich details like Hawaiian artwork, immerse visitors in the culture of the isle. The hotel’s location in Ko’Olina is ideal for those seeking repose.

DINING The sun has just begun to set behind us at ‘AMA‘AMA and I am excited to try some Hawaiian specialties. “We’re showcasing the abundant produce, the classic tastes of Hawaii. From simple plate lunches to whole salt-crusted fish,” explains Executive Chef Patrick Callarac. The menu here is a melting pot of Polynesian, Korean, Portuguese, and Latin influences as demonstrated by my entrée- Vadouvan  curry, house made noodles with seafood and vegetables topped with a fried egg, still gooey in the centre. For dessert, the silky chocolate macadamia nut soufflé with gianduja sauce is a knockout. Children (and adults alike) will be delighted with Aunty’s character breakfast at Makahiki. A buffet style smörgåsbord of continental and Chinese/ Japanese offerings. Kids will love interacting with Disney characters and
the warm and friendly “Aunty” who encourages everyone to sing along with her, while weaving the kiddie line through the breakfast tables.

THE SCENE Activities abound whether unwinding at Laniwai spa, which includes a teen spa, Painted Sky, trying one of the best and most unique treatments in the islands, kili kili, which combines lomi lomi, a body polish and hydrotherapy. Try lei making with fragrant orchids, starlight hui, a catamaran tour (where I see a pod of dolphins) or simply exploring the hotel’s many daily activities. One of the staff sums up my time here perfectly. “At our grand opening, toward sunset, the final crown on the cake was this rainbow that seemingly appeared in the sky out of nowhere. We could have never planned for a moment like that. That’s the kind of magic that happens with Disney.”

WHO IT’S FOR Families, children, couples and anyone looking for activities galore, great dining, world class spa and entertainment with a twist of Disney charm.

WHEN TO GO Great Summer specials. The Disney crew remind us “there’s magical experiences everyday, you never know where and when the next one will be.”

x – FACTOR try to spot the many hidden treasures hidden throughout Aulani- including the sneaky Menehune and the interactive island treasure photo hunt.
