Tiger print, sequins and 70s glam were the hallmarks of Halpern’s for Fall/winter 2022. Described as Anjelica Huston channeling the 1930s film ‘Madam Satan’ the collection showcased a level of polish and glamour that have been scarce in the preceding two years, due to the pandemic. The makeup was an altogether different story, emphasizing a natural, down-to-earth look. Not only does pared-down makeup provide a compliment to va-va-voom dressing, it also suits the season. CSL has broken down the look to work for you.

MAKEUP “This season, gold and silver took central roles with accents of custom-blend lavender, pinks and citrus green on the eyes. And with consideration, we individually matched the girls’ neutral lips to their natural but accentuated tone,” explains Lynsey Alexander for NARS Cosmetics. Overall, the look was natural but amped up just enough to give holiday vibes.

HAIR A sleek cut in face framing layers is universally flattering, so it’s no wonder it made an appearance on the Halpern runway. Equal parts glamorous and approachable, the key to this look is ensuring hair is shiny, soft and voluminous. Whether you blow-dry or air-dry, add a few drops of hair oil to give your hair just that little bit of gloss and to tame fly-aways.

SKIN CARE To achieve that lit from within look seen on the Halpern runway, begin with skin rejuvenation. Sloff off residual dead skin cells and lingering pigment spots with facial scrubs and exfoliation. Then, as temperatures dip and you begin to bundle up in the drying heat inside, remember that your skin needs hydration. Emollient creams, balms and serums, many of which are thick and oil based, provide long lasting hydration and firm your skin. Look for those with fruit acids, vitamins, and enzymes which help brighten skin. Or, opt for antioxidant-rich and nourishing ingredients like rose hips, aronia, and sea buckthorn.
