An elevated spin on summer school, a new summer program at The Lodge at Sonoma, an Autograph Collection Resort allows guests to enjoy educational classes from mixology classes to guided yoga to sharpen up their leisure skills in the heart of wine country.
With immersive destination experiences continuing to remain at the forefront of summer travel trends, the new program offers guests and locals alike a new way to enjoy the best of Sonoma. Honoring the resort’s commitment to community and craft, the resort has partnered with local Sonoma small businesses Cowgirl Creamery, A Sip of Color and Prohibition Spirits to bring the program to life.
The ‘Summer School in Sonoma’ series will be offered on select Thursdays on an ongoing basis starting in June. The class offerings are as follows:
Cool Off Cocktail Mixology Class with Prohibition Spirits
Guests can refine their mixology skills through a guided poolside cocktail class in partnership with Prohibition Spirits. Guests will learn from the talented mixologists from the craft distillery how to create a refreshing ‘Tom Collins’ summer cocktail and taste a flight of small-batch artisanal gins. After sipping on their delicious cocktail creations, guests are invited to cool off with a dip in the resort’s sparkling pool. This class will take place on June 15th and is $50 per person.
Guided Yoga
Guests can make the most of a summer day with a sun salutation from wine country. Hosted by the resort’s talented yoga instructors, guests will improve their flexibility and strength with a guided Vinyasa yoga class. The class will feature various rejuvenating poses and yoga sequences to bring balance to the mind, body and soul.
These classes will begin taking place on July 6.
Sip & Swim – Painting Class with A Sip of Color
Hosted by Sonoma-based painting company A Sip of Color, those who book this immersive art class will take cues from Sonoma’s beautiful surroundings as they lean into their own artistic and creative flair. Guests will sip on the region’s finest wines as they are guided through a painting class beside the pool to create their own work of art as a memorable keepsake. This class will take place on July 27.
Wine & Cheese Pairing Class with Cowgirl Creamery
With Sonoma being a vibrant culinary destination, travelers can indulge in an educational epicurean journey with local artisanal cheese company, Cowgirl Creamery Guests will learn how to perfect the art of a wine and cheese pairing as they are guided through samples and sips in this hour-long experience.The class will be offered on August 10th.

For guests looking to unwind, The Spa at The Lodge offers a range of curated treatments incorporating botanicals indigenous to the Sonoma Valley, honoring the unique salt-of-the-earth spirit of the region. The resort’s Pedal for Pinot program allows guests to explore the charming and romantic town of Sonoma via bicycle and taste the region’s distinct wines.
