On a brief layover in beautiful Vancouver,  CSL had a chance to experience some of the goodies on the menu at Globe @YVR restaurant at Fairmont Vancouver Airport , here are a few of our favourites.

The award-winning restaurant, Globe @YVR specializes in Pacific Northwest Cuisine, and we were pleased to see that many of the items on the menu were Ocean Wise certified seafood, anything but typical boring airport fare and a saving grace for frequent flyers like us!

Walking to our table, many of the diners were enjoying afternoon tea,  (we were told that tea is ultra popular among travellers and Vancouverites).  Another innovative service offered at Jetside Bar and Globe @YVR is the ‘tiffin’, or Indian lunch box inspired by Executive Chef’s Karan Suri’s Indian heritage.  The tiffin comes with a samosa, delicate curry and is served with basmati rice and naan.

A must try is the Fairmont honey lager (in partnership with Whistler Brewing Company), with proprietary honey- slightly sweet and floral with mild bitterness.

CSL was impressed by the beautifully presented plates each given care in presentation, all served with quick and friendly service- a true standout in airport dining.
