This series of gardens divided into rooms, with sculptures, water features has been featured in celluloid and television.
Without the dazzling colour of flowers, the plants here take on an architectural and at times artistic quality emphasized by the many sculptures and exhibits on display. Details like the shiny, pock marked leaves of the breadfruit play against the bronze patinaed surface of L. Andreotti’s Two Mermaids that stand at opposite ends of a scalloped aqueduct. The massive curved roots of the Moreton Bay fig tree which played a role in Jurassic Park mirror the lines of a squiggly fountain in the Allerton Garden. Divided into five rooms, this is a garden art gallery.
