Makes 12 brownies
Ingredients
¾ cup (190 ml) butter
⅔ cup (170 ml) cocoa powder, unsweetened
¾ cup (190 ml) dark chocolate, chopped
¾ cup (190 ml) pecans, toasted and chopped
1 cup (250 ml) sugar
¾ cup (190 ml) flour
¼ cup (60 ml) almond flour
½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) baking powder
½ teaspoon (2.5 ml) vanilla extract
3 eggs
Method
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175 °C) and butter a 9×13 inch square baking pan.
2. In a double boiler, melt butter and dark chocolate. Remove from heat and cool.
3. Combine dry ingredients in another bowl.
4. Whisk in eggs and vanilla.
5. Add the dry ingredients including the chopped nuts, until combined.
6. Pour batter into prepared baking pan.
7. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes until centre is slightly moist but not runny.
