Your New Year’s resolution: celebrating Regional and local craft distilleries
January 2nd 2020 – The best of the craft distillery scene is coming back to Banff and Lake Louise.
MADE WITH LOVE brings back TRIBUTE to warm up SnowDays visitors again in 2020 for 12 days on January 15-26th. MADE WITH LOVE, with the support of Banff & Lake Louise Tourism, presents a winter celebration of craft spirits and local food scene in the heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains unlike any other.
The celebration features special cocktail menus pairing Regional and local craft distilleries with Banff and Lake Louise restaurants showcasing the best of craft for 12 days, culminating in the Outdoor Tasting Experience January 24th and 25th.
TRIBUTE COCKTAIL MENU:100 cocktail creations to choose from January 15-26, 2020
An amazing selection of elevated cocktails will be created from local spirits available in 20 Banff and Lake Louise bars and restaurants. Each participating restaurant or bar will have a special cocktail menu featuring 5 craft spirits, which will be displayed at their venue throughout the event. Each will have their own cocktails highlighting their personality as a venue, and their own take on our unique craft distillery scene. Guests can make the most of the experience by picking up the passport at Visitor Centres in Banff and Lake Louise. Passports are also available online, at participating establishments and at the Outdoor Tasting Experience.
CSL stopped by The Vermilion Room at The Fairmont Banff Springs for a taste of their bistro style menu, paired with a few cocktails like The Pear-Fect Legacy (made with Old Order Distillery Legacy Gin) and Sandra-Dee (made with Bohemian Spirits Colossal Pink Gin).
2-DAY OUTDOOR TASTING EXPERIENCE: Friday, January 24 and Saturday, January 25, 2020
During the final two days of the TRIBUTE – CRAFT SPIRITS CELEBRATION, on January 24-25, an outdoor tasting event will take place, where 10 bars & restaurants and 13 craft distilleries will present their cocktail and food creations. Held on Bear Street, in downtown Banff, guests will be able to taste & discover the best of local food and drink, among beautiful snow sculptures on display as part of SnowDays. Attendees will also have the chance to meet the distillers, taste their products and learn more about the production process in a festive atmosphere, surrounded by the spectacular scenery of Banff and the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
We drove to Lake Louise to take in the stunning Ice Magic festival at The Fairmont Lake Louise, followed by a quick lunch at Alpine social where we tried the tropical and colourful When Two become One (made with Confluence Distilling Headwater Vodka).
