A Love Remembered is Jeff Savage’s winning Bacardi Legacy cocktail. It’s a fun play on a classic Hemingway daiquiri, and even though it’s clear and looks very aggressive and boozy, it’s light, balanced and refreshing on the palate. Jeff created it based on the love between Ernest Hemingway and Ava Gardner, and was particularly inspired by the anecdote that after she swam naked in his pool, he refused to change the water afterward. The drink reminds us of how nostalgia and memory play into our daily lives, and that trying to hold onto something beautiful can create something so special and unique.

 Cocktail Ingredients:
 2 oz Bacardi Superior
0.5 oz Martini Bianco
0.25 oz Maraschino Liqueur
Barspoon Citric and Malic Acid Solution*
2 Dashes Scrappy’s Grapefruit Bitters

 Cocktail Tips:
 > Combine all ingredients with ice in a mixing glass and stir to dilute. > Strain into a chilled coupe glass and express a fresh lime zest over the drink.
*Citric and Malic Acid solution is made by combining 1 part Citric Acid, 1 Part Malic Acid, and 10 parts water. Citric and Malic acid is easily found at any health food store, wine making store, or most large grocery stores.

Menu Options
Jeff suggests pairing the cocktail with anything that has a hint of spice. Flavours like Thai and spicy South American dishes like pork and fish are great mains that compliment A Love Remembered. Pickled jalepeno and coriander are great additions to the dish.
